History and Mission

We are a community church that has ministered to the Danvers area since 1793.   Our focus as a church is to pray and reach out to the poor, hurting, and those who are spiritually separated from God.

We believe in the holy inspired scriptures and the classical tenets of the Christian faith. We are looking for God in his wisdom to do his will and grow in Christ together.

Our Pastor

Rev. John Mulvihill came to First Baptist of Danvers from a career in non-profit leadership and administration. He has worked extensively in mental health administration, homelessness and addiction services and as well as crisis intervention.

Previous to becoming pastor at First Baptist he was the Vice-president of Operations at the Boston Rescue Mission.

He earned a M.A. in Religion from Eastern Nazarene College and Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He has also done graduate work in Social Work and Marriage and Family Counseling. He and his wife Pamela live in Wenham, MA. They have 3 daughters and one son.
